Unemployed

Some bad news today. Nathan was laid off from his job with Batten and Shaw and we are busy looking for new employment. It is a blow, but we have already recognized the Lord's hand in our lives to help us prepare for this. We trust He will continue to take care of us.

Leslie took this video of Miriam and Ethan in the snow. We have giggled over it and thought we would share.

Christmas 2008

Dad and Caleb help Seth bust his drill out of its plastic prison. Wearing their Christmas attire. :)
Christmas morning commotion! Lots of happy paper tearing. This is Ethan opening his new quilt.
Our annual Christmas Eve pageant. My favorite is the shepherd and angel in the background. Ethan wanted head gear, as everyone else was sporting some, so he has a washcloth on his head.

Jacob is modeling some pretty fancy ski goggles and snowflakes.

We have had a great time hanging out at home with everyone! Ethan and Seth are glad to have their brothers and sisters home for vacation.

This is Camille, ready for her Christmas concert. She plays the trumpet.

Snow!

Nathan has a deal with the snow plow driver that he will pile as much snow as possible into our front sidewalk. This will be the beginning of a big pile to play in.
We had some snow today. Long hoped for and highly rejoice over. This is Caleb and Ethan.

Gingerbread House

Today Camille decorated a gingerbread house. It was a kit she had from a primary activity. She had lots of help from the youngest kids :) and a little from Leslie and mom, but most of this work is hers. Way to go, Sis!

This is from the night we put up the tree. All the kids tried to sit in the box. Hope we can still store the tree in it!

Thanksgiving 2008 in Dubois

Jacob did a little hunting.

All of us in Idaho for Thanksgiving. The first all family photo we've had in a long time, not spruced up, but all there.

Halloween 2008

We went to Preston to see Arnica's baby blessed. We had to detour around an accident and the colors were so gorgeous! I think we should take the scenic route more often.
Seth regards his pumpkin. Unsure what it all means.

We had a good time carving pumpkins. This is the first year I had a pumpkin for each kid in a long time. Only down side is that I have some kids who just can't take scooping the insides. So I didn't actually carve my pumpkin, I just scooped and scooped. Ugh. (Nathan is one of the kids who can't take it.)

Watch out neighborhood! I think we had more candy come home than most stores stock this time of year! At least that is what you would think to see the wrappers around the house. :(
